This is one of the best deals we’ve seen on a universal power adapter for laptops. This power adapter may be found for around $20 on most retailers’ websites. This adapter claims to be universal (claims which are help by most who reviewed this product) by including eight dissimilar connection tips. The tips are supposed to be compatible with most laptops and notebooks. However, as always, it’s a good idea to call the provider before purchasing any laptop power supply to make sure it will work with your laptop, notebook, or netbook.

One mutual complaint in reviews of this product was that the supplied pins did not fit their laptops. Like we noted before, no matter what power supply you are purchasing, always check with the provider for compatibility before purchasing. Even if you are 90% sure it will work, it is still a good idea to be clear on the suppliers return policy.
Most reviews for this product seemed to be satisfied with it is performance. Many said it did feel cheap nonetheless but that it did the occupation as advertised. Our personal sentiment is that this may be a good backup but for heavy-duty in-car or transit use, it may be best to get something more durable.

 It’s a winner!

We necessitated an adapter for our portable DVD (kids broke the cord). None of the “universal” adapters fit our ports, so we started out to look at this kind. Many are very low output and do not provide sufficient continuous output to run a device, only charge it. Very happy with this product. Great neverending output for our needs. Gets a little warm after 4 hours of use (but so does each other device, including the player). Have not tried using the USB port at the same time yet. Takes a little getting used to the bulk of it when plugging in, but green indicator light lets you recognise when you’ve got good contact.

i purchased this so i could watch dvds on my laptop in the car on long trips and it powers my acer aspire 5738z through the regular charger.

 Be careful what you wish for.

Be cautious to consider buying this product. The device is loud, in that it has a fan inside and this fan runs all the time.
The product gets hot within a few minutes and remains hot while in use.
So hot in fact that one may worry that it is overheating. In addition, the net battery recharge gain to a regular Dell laptop in terms of recharging a battery while driving is nominal.
One thirty minute drive/charge yielded less than thirty minutes of renewed battery.
Obivously, in an emergency or to convert a cars dc to ac for use while driving; this device works.
It is not a very successful converter. Sorry to have to be unsupportive, but hopefully the manufacturer will upgrade the product.
