Hold On One Minute! 1″ isn’t 1″

Did I miss something in the description of these spacers? When I read the spacers are 1″ I’m expecting 1″ all the way around. What I got is a pair of spacers that are 9/16″ on one side (measured in the middle of the long side) and 1 1/2″ thick on the opposite (long) side. In the center of each short side they measure approximately 15/16″. In other words when I was told I was getting a 1″ spacer, foolish me, I assumed it was a flat piece (i.e. 1″ thick all the way around) but what I got was a spacer that, when placed on a flat surface, is higher on one side than the other.
I thought possibly I got the defective item, but they’re listed as model “SS69″ and that’s the number on the packaging as well as the number that’s embossed on the spacers themselves.
So, when/if you buy these 1″ spacers, what you in truth get is a set of spacers that give you a minimum of 9/16″ of further and added clearance and your speaker will sit and an angle.

Great item but not descibed properly.

This item is well made but it will have to explain this Spacer is thicker on one Side tilting the speaker when mounted. great for a back deck instalation. Not what i wanted and had to change to use. Still worth purchasing if it is what you need.

Non-standard install.

These were very annoying to get in, but then again I was mounting them to the inside panel of my door. I dive an 86 Cherokee, with all the window seals rotted out, and no A/C, so the road noise is horrible. I had a set of 6×9 speakers my dad gave me out of a wrecked truck and I necessitated these so the magnet would clear the window (no A/C so the window HAS to come down). After fighting for 2 hours drilling through a steel door panel, I in the long run got these mounted. The speakers hold very strong, and with these, and the whole door acting as an accousic area, the music sounds great. The fit is not quiet contoured, but I suspect these aren;t designed to be seen. They are made of very good plastic, and I suppose them to hold for numerous years. Overall, a good product, and in all likelihood better for a more conventional installation.
