Needed a spare I’ve been a big fan of K&N for a while now, and I just necessitated a alternate for the one that came on my SRI for my civic. It’s way requiring little effort to just swap them, than to have to wait for it to arid and re-oil.
Works outstanding after 72,000 miles! I presently use this filter on a Honda Element. In the element, the filter position (used on a K&N intake) causes one side of the filter to gunk up first, so it will have to be rotated occasionally. I wash the filter each 5-8k miles with K&N Filter cleaner and re-oil with K&N filter oil. It never comes rather as clean as you would like and it is starting to show a lot of wear to the material and mesh cover. I think I’ll toss it at 100k miles and get a new one, but that seems like a reasonable service life for a $40 filter. It might last longer in light or city use and or less time in a dirty/country road environment.
