3 huge troubles that make this unusable

Problem #1: if the unit is set to play your iPod, the alarm will not function. That is, if you set the alarm, then fall asleep with your iPod playing, the alarm will not go off. The unit function switch must be set to “off” for the alarm to sound! And yes I double-checked the instructions to see to it I’m operating it correctly. For this reason alone it is useless as an alarm clock.
Problem #2: The iPod only charges when docked if the unit function switch is set to “iPod” i.e. if you want your iPod to charge while you listen to the radio, you can’t do it. Also unacceptable
Problem #3: I have an iPod Touch, and it is in truth hard to get in the dock–worried I’m going to harm my iPod getting it into the dock.
Other difficulties include that the display is not dimmable and is super bright.
If by probability someone else owns this unit and I’m in error in any of the above please post and let me know!

The original reviewer is rectify with his assessment. However I found other problems.
1. The alarm also doesn’t work if you’re listening to radio. The only way to use the alarm is to have radio/ipod off.
2. There’s no sleep feature(where you have the radio play for commonly only an hour when going to bed, then it shuts off). However there if you look at the digital space you may see that they have it on there. Probably on another model.
3. Both the volume and tuning knob are very sensitive. So if you try to turn up the volume a bit at night you may suppose to wake up your spouse/neighbor/etc as just looking at knob will raise it from a whisper to ear shattering
4. This display is unbelievably bright. I work 3rd shift so I like my bedroom extra dark. This clock is so bright I have to turn it away from me, and still wear a blindfold to block it out.
5. The display is hit or miss. Sometimes the PM works, most times it doesn’t. Woke up one day thinking it was 1:00 turns out it was 3:00, elements of the 3 didn’t light up.
The only good thing is knowing I didn’t buy this, it was a prize. However after using it I actually don’t feel like a winner anymore.
