Motorcycle sound systems have come a long way in the past couple of years. We all like to listen the wind and rumble of our bikes, but if we are riding for a few hours it’s nice to listen a lot of tunes to support the miles roll by.
In the past the selections for motorcycle sound schemes have been somewhat limited. Bulky am/fm radios with less-than-spectacular speakers ofttimes provided more grief and inconsistent reception than they were worth.
Well, that has changed for the better with the progressed electronic revolution. With the advent of i-pods, satellite radio, and MP-3 players, the music of our choice is more available than ever.
The current offerings of sound systems vary widely but most offer better performance than even the top of the line models of just a few years ago.
There are various things to consider when looking at motorcycle sound systems. The capacity to plug in your MP-3, satellite radio, and i-pod provides a lot more flexibleness in your sound system.
Typically, if you are going on a road trip outside of your standard haunts your ordinary am/fm radio will be losing channels and you’ll need to search for more.

What a outstanding product for the price! I put this on my 07 Heritage Softail. I was very suprised at how piercing it was.
Pleasntly surprised
I picked these up hoping they would sound ok at best. Installation was SIMPLE !!! I tied the power into the license plate light line. Hardest part was finding a place to mount the amp on my bike. I started it up and was actually impressed with how they sounded. Had to get handlebar clamps distinguished from this kit to mount them. Overall a nice set that works just fine for me – I don’t doubt there are better sounding choices but not for the $45 I paid for this one. Great Value !!!
Sounds fine
Not a bad little stereo. I had a better sounding system on my last bike (a shark stereo), but it was UGLY! This scheme sounds fine, but I did have to set my iPod to an equalizer setting of closely no bass in order to keep out of the way of distortion. I have piercing aftermarket pipes and a windshield and I may listen it fine at highway speeds.
Since this is the lower-grade model, Pyle kind of jips you on installation hardware. The brackets for mounting the speakers are little “z” shaped brackets, which are useless for handlebar mounting. I went to Lowe’s and purchased a lot of 1″ anodized, rubber-sheathed “p” brackets for a little over a buck and employed them to mount the speakers to the handlebars. I need to go buy another set to mount the volume control to the handlebars.
I think the next stereo up (the -60 model) gets you the chrome “p” brackets plus a higher watt amp and am/fm too. I never use the am/fm and found the “p” brackets for cheap, so the only reason for me to buy the upgrade would be for the more spectacular amp.
