Not worth diddly squat….. By R. French The remote arrived nicely packaged with well written instructions, but that is where the fairy tale ended with this item.
I purchased it to replace a broken remote for a AR table radio purchased through Amazon. I thought since it was the same company, the would have a code for the table radio. The instructions have no code to opperate ANY AR product. There is supposed to be a feature that allows you to find a code if your product is not listed but after multiple attempts, I gave up.
Since it was a loss for operating the table radio, I thought I would program it to use with an iHome iPod dock that I have. I applied the code listed for the iHome products, and each other iPod dock system listed, and none would work. Talk when it comes to frustrating!
I was begining to thing that the remote was just defective so I tried programming it to use on other electronic equipment. I worked on a few but never completely meeting expectations.
I returned the item to Amazon and they did promptly refund the buy price. That was the most fufilling part of this transaction….the easy return. I don’t commend this remote to anyone.

Great control conception with a couple flaws By T. Mansfield I’m giving this five stars strictly on function, it is not the best tactile experience and lacts a heap of programming features but fills a nitch that i could not find anyplace else. If you are no longer using a cable STB and watch a majority of video content on the web (I’m using it with a Mac mini htpc) and don’t want a 40 button monster remote then this is a perfective fit, Of the three functions, one is your tv which becomes the standard channel up/down volume up/down input select and mute. The next two become your audio receiver or a/v receiver and the last becomes your media device (apple tv or htpc for example).
Programming is pretty general but I could not reprogram the menu button since it is applied to exit the programming mode. Other than that the only other problem I have with it is the little throw of the buttons.
I could not find the programming code map on the web so if you are marveling it includes a very huge tv, av receiver and audio receiver list along with a list of media gimmicks like apple. That is it – no DVD/blue ray for example.
This product is all regarding simplification – it’s very little (half the size of a popular universal remote), goes exclusively black (other than the ar label) when it’s not moving (it has a tilt sensor to activate the button LEDs) and limits the buttons to an sheer minimum.
