Madonna’s eleven studio albums are Madonna, Like A Virgin, True Blue, Like A Prayer, Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray Of Light, Music, American Life, Confessions On A Dancefloor and Hard Candy. Compilations – The Immaculate Collection, GHV2 and Something To Remember. Film Soundtracks – Who’s That Girl, I’m Breathless (from Dick Tracy) and Evita. Remix – You Can Dance and Remixed and Revisited. Live Albums – I’m Going To Tell You A Secret and Confessions Live. The only official picture disc releases are all Japanese releases of The First Album cat no p-15002, Like A Virgin cat no p-15003 and True Blue cat no p-15004. Japanese discs are more collectable and trade for a lot more money. They commonly include obi strips and lyric and data sheets too. There is likewise an official promo picture disc of You Can Dance catalog no PRO-MAD-1, which is very rare. This disc only has a picture on the b-side, the a-side is the track listing. This picture disc was withdrawn from sale because the art showed Madonna sucking Naomi Campbell’s toe around the same time the duchess of york was photographed topless in the newsprints doing the same thing while having an affair. Due to the advertising the record company decisive to withdraw the picture disc from sale and demolish them making it very rare. It’s rumored there are a couple of hundred in circulation largely in the hands of collectors. A bootleg version is also available but nowhere near as valuable. According to Madonnaunderground.com there are three main deviations amongst the initial and the bootleg these are: 1) The real “Erotica” picture disc carries a gold backing card, with the official “Madonna/Erotica” logo in the top-left corner. The bootleg disc is missing this backing card. 2) The real “Erotica” picture disc has a white rectangular box containing it is catalog # directly beneath the Maverick logo on the vinyl itself. The bootleg disc is missing this box. 3) The real “Erotica” picture disc has the words “Orlake W0138TP” sketched on the run-out groove of the vinyl itself, on the inner loop. The bootleg disc is missing this writing. To achieve the best price,picture discs need to be in mint or splendid condition (new or unplayed is even better).
